Der deutsche Tesla-Fahrer Hansjörg Gemmingen hat nach eigenen Angaben einen neuen Rekord für die höchste bekannte Kilometerleistung eines Model S aufgestellt. Ende vergangener Woche veröffentlichte er auf Twitter zwei Bilder mit der Kilometeranzeige eines Tesla, die einen Stand von exakt 900.000 Kilometer anzeigt. Nach Angaben von Gemmingen stammen sie aus seinem eigenen Model S P85.
In der Liste „Tesla High Mileage Leaderboard“ sind die Elektroautos von Tesla aufgeführt, deren Besitzer damit insgesamt die meisten Kilometer gefahren sind. Möglicherweise gibt es irgendwo auf der Welt noch höhere Laufleistungen, die nicht gemeldet wurden. Aber weil die meisten Tesla-Fahrer durchaus gern über die Erlebnisse mit ihren Autos berichten und sich intensiv darüber austauschen, ist eher nicht damit zu rechnen.

Ausgehend davon, dass die Liste vollständig ist, hat Gemmingen nicht nur mit seinem Model S die meisten Kilometer weltweit hinter sich gebracht: Schon zuvor war er dafür bekannt, mit einem Tesla Roadster der ersten Generation den Rekordwert von 620.000 Kilometern gefahren zu sein. Damit steht der Deutsche jetzt mit dem Model S auf Platz 1 der Mileage-Liste und mit dem alten Roadster auf Platz 3.
Die übrigen Plätze in den Top-Fünf nehmen drei Fahrzeuge des früheren Tesla-Mitfahrdienstes Tesloop ein. Das Model S 90D von Tesloop hat es auf 724.000 Kilometer gebracht, ein Model X 90D auf 589.000, ein weiteres auf 563.000. Bei dem Model S wurde laut einer in diesem Juni veröffentlichten Übersicht von Tesloop allerdings bereits zweimal die Batterie ausgetauscht. Das Model S von Gemmingen dagegen soll erst mit dem zweiten Batteriepack unterwegs sein.
Auch für das neuere Model 3 von Tesla gibt es inzwischen eine Liste mit den höchsten Laufleistungen. Der Spitzenreiter, ein Modell in der Variante mit großer Reichweite, ist bislang knapp 116.000 Kilometer gefahren.
