Ehemaliger CEO von Continental und Opel fährt Tesla

Karl-Thomas Neumann war von September 2008 bis August 2009 Vorstandsvorsitzender des Automobilzulieferers Continental. Seine letzte Station hatte er jedoch beim Autohersteller Opel, wo er von März 2013 bis Juni 2017 Chef des Unternehmens war, bis er selbstständig zurücktrat. Er ist in der deutschen Automobilindustrie demnach kein unbeschriebenes Blatt.

Umso erstaunlicher ist eine kürzlich von ihm auf Twitter veröffentlichte Nachricht, in der er bekannt gibt, dass die Mobilität im Hause Neumann ab nun an elektrisch ist. Er verabschiedet sich in dem Tweet vom Verbrennungsmotor und sagt voraus, dass die Zukunft der Elektromobilität gehört.

Die Familie Neumann verfügt demnach über einen BMW i3 sowie ein Tesla Model S, also ein Kurz- und ein Langstreckenfahrzeug. Gerade das Model S dürfte für deutsche Autohersteller ein Schlag ins Gesicht sein, denn sie bieten offenbar nichts adäquates an.

Nichtsdestotrotz hat Neumann den Verbrennungsmotor nicht gänzlich abgeschrieben. Seine Oldtimer will er weiterhin an besonderen Tagen fahren. Im Alltag ist er jedoch mittlerweile nur noch elektrisch unterwegs.
