Wie die Süddeutsche Zeitung berichtet (via Electrek), ist Tesla offenbar in Gesprächen mit den Ionity-Eigentümer, um dem Ladesäulen-Joint-Venture möglicherweise beizutreten. „Nach SZ-Informationen gibt es Gespräche mit Volvo, Fiat-Chrysler, PSA/Opel, Jaguar Land Rover. Und Tesla“, ist in der Online-Ausgabe der Zeitung zu lesen.

Das Ende Oktober gegründete Gemeinschaftsunternehmen Ionity wurde von BMW, Daimler, Ford und Volkswagen ins Leben gerufen und soll bis 2020 400 Ultra-Schnellladestationen an Europas Fernstraßen aufbauen. Dieses Ladenetzwerk soll das beste und stärkste des Kontinents sein, noch engmaschiger und leistungsfähiger als das von Tesla, schreibt die SZ.

Angedacht ist, dass an Europas Schnellstraßen alle 120 Kilometer eine Ionity-Station mit jeweils mindestens sechs Ladepunkten stehen soll. Diese sollen wiederum 350 kW leisten können. Zum Vergleich: Teslas Supercharger bieten maximal 145 kW, welche zudem auf 120 kW limitiert sind. An Ionity-Stationen soll man innerhalb weniger Minuten etwa 400 Kilometer Reichweite nachladen können.
